About Durham Sixth Form Centre

Durham Sixth Form Centre is the largest post-16 school in the country and boasts a diverse and vibrant community of over 1800 students. Enrolled from more than 60 different secondary schools within County Durham and beyond, the centre offers an extensive curriculum with over 30 A-levels and nearly 20 vocational qualifications. This comprehensive offering makes it one of the most varied and broad-based educational institutions in the area.

Objectives

Durham Sixth Form Centre began the process of academisation in September 2023 after being previously maintained under the Local Authority of Durham County Council. This transformation necessitated the overhaul of various existing operational procedures, with particular focus on requisitioning and their Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflows. Their former workflow involved taking a requisition/order through to an approved invoice stage, after which a payment file was forwarded to Durham County Council (DCC), awaiting confirmation of payment. The advent of academisation prompted the need for a more sophisticated requisitioning and P2P process and workflow.

Durham Sixth Form Centre and Sage Intacct

Following the completion and go-live of a standard Sage Intacct Financials for Education (SIFE) delivery, Durham Sixth Form Centre embarked on a journey of transformative financial management. They have effectively conducted User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and related training from ION’s specialists and transitioned to a true cloud financial management system with a digitised P2P process and workflow.
