WHAT IS THE ROLE?
ION is recruiting a Senior Project Manager to play a pivotal role in the successful, satisfactory and value driven project delivery of financial technology projects for our customers from our professional services team.
You will also perform a role of coaching, mentoring and working alongside entry level and experienced Project Managers, to support them in their day to day working and project delivery responsibilities.
The role requires someone who has exceptional customer engagement skills, a detailed and meticulous planner and execute to a schedule to measure and evaluate the outcome.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, can move at speed with quality and assurance, collaborative in nature and a motivator for our professional services team.
WHAT WILL IDO?
- Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives and projects that span across multiple products and customers
- Provide leadership for one or more project teams by developing, coaching, and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
- Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
- Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature capabilities of the Delivery team
- Plan and execute our projects to our ION Way delivery methodology, ensuring our teams and our customers perform their tasks, deliver the appropriate outcomes and achieve sign off at the appropriate points of the project
- To work with our teams and customers and defining clear roles and responsibilities and agreeing the best way to work together throughout the project
- To collaboratively design a plan that represents the delivery of the project with our teams and customers
- To work with our teams in appropriately resourcing the required skills and expertise of resources onto the project based on availability and required delivery targets of the project
- To execute with our teams and customers the required processes for identification and remedy of risks, issues and changes throughout the project
- To set-up and execute the required reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle to provide trackable progress and insight to our Directors and customers
- To actively monitor time, cost and quality targets throughout the delivery of the project and to perform any required actions or management as required
- To meet commercial objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis and reporting outcomes
- To escalate to key representatives of management if an issue occurs during the project
- To create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Report to project executive leadership and take an active role in issue resolution, planning and guiding the project
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in project management
- Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
- Experience in dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or escalation as needed
- Experience of leadership, coaching or mentoring of team members with demonstrable improvement in performance
- Experience of using Project Management or PSA solutions for project delivery
- Understands basic commercial and revenue models, centred around invoicing, revenue recognition, margin and costs and analysing variances and initiating corrective actions
- Competent in use of different project methodologies
- Multi-customer portfolio delivery experience is desired
- Exemplar project management delivery and engagement skills with strong previous experience and understanding of the delivery process lifecycle and experience of managing £100k - £500k size and complexity projects
- Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
- Previous stakeholder management skills and confidence and gravitas in front of clients, project teams and 3rd parties
