We are looking for an manager or lead who is experienced in delivery and operation of ERP or on premise / cloud accounting solutions and has achieved successful business and client outcomes, in addition to leading a team of talented product implementation and transformation specialists.
You will own the technical implementation, development operations and best practices for all our cloud accounting products and will be expected to have deep technical and domain expertise and to directly contribute to the technical approaches and development of features that deliver value to our company and its customers, including driving strong processes compliance and governance in the team and business interactions.
We want someone to lead us in building the most capable cloud accounting team in the UK and growing our ability to enable and deliver our product offerings to our customers.
Management of the Business
In accordance with corporate responsibility for the business, work effectively as part of the senior management team to contribute to business strategy, performance and work mitigate operational issues
To actively promote and champion the strategic and operational decisions made by the senior management team to your Financial Transformation team and the wider business
Management of the Department
Overall business responsibility for the management of the Financial Transformation team; including the general running of the team:
- Overall team performance
- Minimising risks
- Maximising opportunities
- Improving processes
- Achieving the teams targets
- Seeking to positively influence the progression, growth and skill set of the team
Responsible for effectively managing the teams technical function to ensure best practices are followed, new products, releases, skills are identified and then trained into the team
Overall delivery responsibility of the Financial Transformation team; including:
- The ability of your team to deliver against milestones and deadlines
- Estimates versus actual time spent on tasks are controlled and efficient
You will be involved in consulting with the leads on requirements capture, process and workflow understanding of our clients businesses to inform the Financial Transformation projects
You will advise, involved in consulting with the leads, our clients on Financial Transformation technical strategies and solutionise the right result for the Financial Transformation projects
You will be expected to participate in the delivery of projects from ION to it’s clients
You will be expected to support and provide your Financial Transformation expertise to the wider team at ION (Financial Transformation)
You will assess the technical feasibility of implementation concepts and support the development of quick prototypes to pitch solutions to our clients
Your extensive expertise in conquering technical challenges will safeguard new projects from the get-go
Some of the projects you'll work on engage with brand new Financial Transformation products or technologies that can be technically challenging, requiring you to lead the way for your team across uncharted paths of development
You'll help to prepare projects for development by aligning to the technical process (including product, environment architecture,configuration, data) you define for the Financial Transformation team
You will advocate retrospective learning and continually evolve and improve the technical process and it’s sub components within the Financial Transformation team
Ensure the right calibre, skills and personality of staff are recruited into the Financial Transformation team
Lead, motivate, communicate with, develop, appraise and performance manage staff to ensure they are fully motivated to achieve best performance to meet the company’s needs
Ensure the team operates in accordance with company policies and procedures
Proactively monitor holidays and absences within your team and manage them in relation to the company policies and procedures
7+ years’ experience working with Financial Transformation products or technology solutions in a complex environment, delivering high throughput at high quality
2+ years of experience managing a team of Financial Transformation professionals, using agile methodologies, fostering a collaborative work environment
Experience in setting up or operating within efficient development operations, driving strong processes and keeping team accountable for process compliance
Experience with incident response from an operational standpoint
Strong working knowledge of internal application management processes, incl. Testing, CI/CD, Source code control, Release management,Configuration and Change Management, Compliance and Security
Demonstrates ability to solve problems and has a clear understanding of how cloud accounting products integrates with other systems
Structured and methodical approach to getting things done
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to clearly communicate with senior stakeholders on projects and issues
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to be flexible in a fast paced work environment while managing conflicting priorities
Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
Highly motivated self-starter, with a bias for action and getting things done, while continuously improving our operations and challenging the team to do better
Experience managing a office and remote working dispersed team preferred
International accounting knowledge is an added bonus!
